  • Nothing to downloadIt happens in your browser. No app to download, no setup.
How it works

Tap. Talk. Travel on.

Three steps. The longest one is describing how you feel.

  1. 01

    Tell us where you are

Choose the country you’re in. Any doctor you speak to is licensed to treat you there.

  2. 02

    Tell us what happened

Choose what’s bothering you and answer a few quick questions.

  3. 03

Ding dong. Your doctor is ready.

Join the video call, talk it through, and get a clear plan for what to do next.

5 minutes from your holiday.
Not 3 days of it.

Your doctor options arrive in less than 5 minutes. Just enough time to find a quiet spot. That is the wait to be connected, not the length of your consultation.

About Pomodoc

Getting medical help abroad shouldn’t be the complicated part.

Pomodoc is a video consultation service for travellers who fall ill abroad, available in 139 countries. It connects you with an English-speaking doctor licensed to treat you in the country you’re in, for €40 per consultation.

When something goes wrong on a trip, a lot of the stress is logistics: finding a clinic, getting there, waiting, then explaining yourself in a language you don’t speak. That’s the part Pomodoc removes.

The doctors come from Air Doctor’s medical network, which has been arranging care for travellers for years and checks that every doctor on it is licensed to practise where you are.

Questions

Good things to know.

How much does a video consultation cost?

€40 per video consultation. Fixed price.

The price covers the consultation only. Any in-person examination or further care you may need is paid for separately.

When you are charged, how you pay and what you get for an insurer are set out on what a consultation costs.

How long does it take to speak to a doctor?

Your available doctor options reach you in less than 5 minutes. You then speak to the doctor at the appointment time you choose from them, so the five minutes is how quickly your options arrive rather than how quickly you are seen.

The order is: you tell us which country you are in and what is going on, we confirm how to reach you by WhatsApp or email, your available doctor options arrive, and you choose the appointment that suits you and pay for it. Your video consultation then happens at that booked time.

You can close the tab while you wait for your options, and we will let you know as soon as they are ready. If nobody is free straight away, we will tell you rather than leave you wondering.

Where can I use Pomodoc?

Pomodoc is available in 139 countries. In any of them you can have a video consultation with an English-speaking doctor licensed to treat you where you are.

You tell us which country you are in when you start a booking, and we will confirm whether a doctor is available for you there.

Will the doctor speak English?

Yes. Every Pomodoc consultation is with an English-speaking doctor, so you are not translating your symptoms or working through a phrase app while you feel unwell.

How does it work?

Choose the country you are in, tell us what happened and how to reach you, and your available doctor options come back to you. You pick the appointment that suits you, and your consultation happens by video with a doctor licensed to treat you there.

It all happens in the browser you are reading this in. There is no app to download, no account to create, no time slot to choose and no doctor profiles to browse.

Is this a real doctor?

Yes. Every consultation is with a qualified English-speaking doctor who is a licensed medical professional, and you will see their name before the call starts. It is a proper medical consultation, not a chatbot or a symptom checker.

The doctors come from Air Doctor's medical network, which checks that every doctor on it is licensed to practise where you are.

What can a doctor help with by video?

Non-emergency concerns a doctor can assess by talking to you and looking. That covers a lot of ordinary travel trouble: colds, sore throats, new skin rashes, and mild digestive upsets.

Some things need hands-on care, and a video call is how you find that out quickly. If your doctor thinks you should be seen in person, they will say so and explain what kind of care to look for.

What happens after the consultation?

Your doctor will explain their assessment and recommend the next steps for your care. If you need an in-person examination or further care, they will advise you accordingly.

Can I use Pomodoc for my child?

Yes. You can book a consultation for your child as well as for yourself. Pomodoc's doctors are GPs, so they can help with general primary care.

Can I claim the consultation on my travel insurance?

It depends on your policy. After your consultation, Pomodoc sends you an invoice that you can submit to your insurer as part of a claim.

Whether you are reimbursed, and how much, is decided by your own insurance company under the terms of your policy. Pomodoc cannot guarantee that a claim will be paid.

Is what I tell the doctor private?

Yes. What you share is medical information and it is treated that way: it goes to the doctor treating you, and it is not used to advertise to you.

What is collected, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have over it are all set out in our Privacy Policy.

Can I cancel, and will I get my money back?

You can cancel at any time, but a confirmed appointment is not refunded. Once you confirm, the fee stays payable even if you cancel or do not attend.

If your doctor cancels or does not join the call, the hold on your card is released and you are not charged.

Is Pomodoc for emergencies?

No. Pomodoc is for non-emergency medical concerns while traveling. If you have severe symptoms, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing or signs of a stroke, contact local emergency services immediately.
